Stealth Tabletop from Design Concepts

Stealth Tabletop from Design Concepts: "Want to hide your PC rather than flaunt it? This design concept of a Stealth Tabletop looks like a designer coffee table, but boot up the multimedia PC hiding underneath, and there's a screen that magically appears.

Design Concepts from the UK sees this tabletop in corporate reception areas and in fancy houses where people want to hide the PC but still have it nearby. Neat stuff, maybe someday this could even be built and available.

MSI D310 portable media player with built-in DVB-T receiver

MSI D310 portable media player with built-in DVB-T receiver: "Filed under: Portable Video

We've seen quite a few portable media players with built in digital receivers. Unfortunately (for those of us on this side of the Pacific, that is), most are DMB models designed for use in Korea. However, MSI is now rolling out the D310, a PMP with a Freeview receiver, which means that it'll work anywhere that uses DVB-T for digital broadcasting. That covers much of Europe, Australia and parts of Asia and South America. As usual, North Americans will have to sit this one out. In addition to a DVB-T receiver, the D310 includes a 4.2-inch display, SD card slot, and compatibility with MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio files."

Marantz's new VP-11S1 1080p DLP projector

Marantz's new VP-11S1 1080p DLP projector: "

Marantz has a new projector, but you'd better listen up, because even if they're not incredibly well known for their HD gear this side of the Pacific, this thing's a DLP powerhouse. Their freshly minted VP-11S1 features a full 1080p high definition picture, Konica Minolta lens, 6,500:1 contrast ratio, pumps out 700 ANSI lumens, and has dual HDMI, dual component, VGA, S-Video, and composite video inputs -- all for a mere 1,800,000. Ahem, that's about $15,300 US. In other words, you'll have a little time to scrap for spare change before they release this thing Stateside -- if they release this thing Stateside.
